Entry is only open to Australian and New Zealand residents. "Win" in this context means that you are required to enter this competition for your chance to win the prize, if your entry is judged the best, by New Scientist, then you win. New Scientist employees (and their families) plus contributors are not eligible to enter. Only one entry per envelope will be accepted. Faxed or photocopied entries will not be accepted. Promotion commences 14th October 2006. Entries close last mail 9th December 2006. The judging will take place and the winner decided on 13th December 2006 at 475 Victoria Avenue, Chatswood NSW 2067. The winner will be notified by mail and published in New Scientist on December 23rd 2006. Prize must be taken within the month of February 2007. Date decided by the Melbourne Museum, New Scientist and the winner. The judge's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable or redeemable for cash. Prize is for two people and if they reside interstate (from Victoria) the prize will include return economy airfares to Melbourne, this will be decided by New Scientist. One nights accommodation on the dig will be provided by Melbourne museum. The prize includes all meals but excludes spending money, transfers, insurance, transport to and from departure point (other than stated) and other ancillary costs, which are the responsibility of the winner. New Scientist will however pay for one return transfer to and from Melbourne airport to the Museum. Airport taxes and Government Levies are the responsibility of the winner and will need to be paid at time of booking. Tickets are non transferable. Flights cannot be taken during school holidays or peak travel periods. Accommodation is subject to availability at time of booking. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for personal injury which is suffered or sustained during the course of the prize except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
